THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL NEARING THE NORTH
CAROLINA MOUNTAINS

AT 320 AM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE RADARS INDICATED AN AREA OF
THUNDERSTORMS OVER NORTHEAST TENNESSEE. THE LEADING EDGE OF THE
LINE WAS ABOUT OVER MORRISTOWN TENNESSEE AND THUNDERSTORMS
EXTENDED WELL BACK INTO CENTRAL KENTUCKY. THE STORMS WERE MOVING
SOUTHEAST AT 35 MPH...AND AT THEIR PRESENT RATE OF MOVEMENT...THEY
SHOULD BEGIN TO AFFECT AREAS ROUGHLY BETWEEN INTERSTATE 40 AND
INTERSTATE 26 BY 4 AM.

SOME OF THESE STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LARGE...DAMAGING
HAIL AND FREQUENT CLOUDY TO GROUND LIGHTNING. ISOLATED DAMAGING
WIND IS ALSO POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

BETWEEN 4 AND 5 PM THE STORMS WILL MOVE FARTHER INTO THE NORTH
CAROLINA MOUNTAINS...LIKELY AFFECTING AREAS FROM SYLVA TO
WAYNESVILLE...ASHEVILLE AND BURNSVILLE.
